I am a musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapist, with over 22 years of experience. I also trained in Pilates and have integrated Pilates principles into my rehabilitation, core classes and movement practices throughout my career.
Due to my interest in an integrative, holistic approach to health and wellbeing, I transitioned into becoming a Functional Medicine Certified Health Coach.
Coaching clients to make real and lasting changes to their health and wellbeing through nutrition, movement, stress management, sleep and other lifestyle elements, is my true passion. Health coaching is a powerful tool to help clients discover their innate goals and potential.
As a physiotherapist, I am uniquely qualified not only to help you to rehabilitate your movement system to optimal condition, but also to understand and coach you through changes you would like to make. Perhaps you are going through hormonal changes, are overweight, have a chronic health condition, have sustained an injury, or have undergone surgery? Perhaps your aim is to get fitter and stronger? Whatever your challenges are, working alongside you, I am committed to helping you to achieve your nutrition, weight, strength, fitness and movement goals.

PHYSIOTHERAPY & SPORTS MASSAGE
After understanding your unique history and completing a full in depth assessment of your musculoskeletal system, I treat with a hands on approach - using spinal and joint mobilisation techniques, massage, trigger point therapy, and fascial release techniques.
Stretching and neural tissue mobilsation techniques are used, and I will also teach you to use these methods at home.
I also offer personalised rehabilitation progams which you can do regularly at home.
FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE HEALTH COACHING
As a Functional Medicine Health Coach, my role is to help you to discover and activate our own intrinsic motivation for change.
I will support you and help you to achieve your own personal health & wellness goals. Behaviour and habit change, SMART Goals, positive psychology, visualisation and character strengths are a few examples of the tools that health coaches use in order to help you to get into a positive upward spiral.
Functional Medicine Health Coaching focusses on improving modifiable lifestyle factors such as nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management etc, to improve not only your sense of wellbeing, but also focusses on using these factors in order to reduce the likelihood of developing chronic health conditions such as cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders (for example obesity and Type 2 diabetes), inflammatory conditions, auto-immune disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and many other chronic health conditions. These modifiable lifestyle factors also have an impact on your genetic expression.

SCOPE OF PRACTICE AS A HEALTH COACH
Functional Medicine Health Coaches are trained through the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, based in the USA.
Although we have a very comprehensive understanding of gut health, nutrition, food plans, detoxification, metabolic health, mind-body medicine, positive psychology, exercise and much more, we are not experts in any of these fields.
As an FMCA coach I am there to explain and guide if you wish to have information and resources on these topics
However, I am not qualified as a nutritionist or dietician, nor do I prescribe supplements or tell you what to eat or what to do. Some clients have a doctor/dietician/nutritionist/homeopath etc who has made recommendations or suggestions to improve their health. Some clients simply come directly to a health coach in order to achieve and implement behaviours such as healthy eating, exercising, getting good quality sleep, and finding balance in your life, which bring about improved health.
The coaching process is highly individualised to you, and which areas of your life you would like to focus on improving, and how exactly you would like to achieve those goals.
As a physiotherapist and Pilates instructor, I have had over 22 years of experience with clients recovering from injuries or surgeries, coping with acute injuries, chronic pain or having to adjust their lifestyles because of these conditions.
My special areas of interest lie in metabolic health, weight loss, women and hormonal health, exercise and nutrition. I believe in a practical and pragmatic approach which offers sustainable lifestyle change in the long run. I have also been fortunate enough to learn about Mindfulness from my friend and fellow FMCA Health Coach, Constanze Lullies.

WOMEN'S WELLNESS COURSES
Intuitive Wellbeing was created by fellow FMCA Health Coach and Mindfulness expert Constanze Lullies, and myself. The Women's Wellness Course was inspired by all the women we know who juggle, struggle, rise to the everyday challenges, and wish to start prioritising their own health and wellbeing.
The evidence based topics we cover in this 10 workshop course include:
gut health, nutrition, metabolic health & weight, exercise, fasting, energy.
hormones, sleep, detoxification, stress management and restoration.
Mindfulness techniques and mind-body medicine are woven throughout this unique course. The support of the group is invaluable. Courses are offered in person, and also via Zoom
